When you create an account on Schlock Talk, we collect your email address, display name, and username. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google.

We also collect usage data such as pages visited, movies rated, and reviews submitted to provide and improve our services.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain your account
  • Display your profile, ratings, and reviews to the community
  • Send transactional emails (account verification, password resets)
  • Send our newsletter, if you subscribe (you can unsubscribe at any time)
  • Improve and analyze usage of our services

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security policies. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Cookies

We use essential cookies to maintain your authentication session. We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand how visitors use our site. You can opt out of analytics tracking by using a browser extension or disabling JavaScript.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Supabase — authentication and database
  • Cloudflare — hosting and content delivery
  • Google Analytics — usage analytics
  • TMDb — movie metadata and poster images
  • SendGrid — transactional email delivery

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. You can update your profile information directly through your account settings.
